Thanks for Nothing: Random Acts of Kindness and What... Over the past few months, I've been hearing about some self-confessing Christians doing, promoting and priding themselves for "random acts of kindness." Have you heard about these things? It is when...

I don’t suppose anybody has missed hearing about the massacre that happened at Virginia Tech yesterday. Just visit cnn.com for updates.

I just wanted to point you to Tim Challlies’ reflection, titled “Praying for Blacksburg“, my Southern Baptist friend Timmy Brewster’s post titled “Grieving, Comforting, Believing as Christians“, and Passion Conferences leader Louie Giglio’s post “Heavy Hearted, Yet Not Without Hope“.

UPDATE: SBTS President Albert Mohler has responded @ the Washington Post column, On Faith.

I’m still waiting on response from John Piper. A very short but appropriate comment has been made by Abraham Piper @ the Desiring God blog (emphasis mine):

While others are already making the Virginia Tech massacre a political issue and looking vehemently for someone to blame, let us remember that “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick” (Jeremiah 17:9).

Our hearts and the murderer’s.

No x-ray machines, revised gun laws, or fired college presidents will solve the problem. We need new hearts (Ezekiel 11:19, John 3:3). We need Jesus.

We all need Jesus indeed.

Just found your blog. When do you start at SBTS?

Hello Tony,
I’m planning to start this fall term (August)!

Know anybody I can connect with? Current students, future students? I’ll be coming down this Thurs for the Preview Conference:P

I’m working with some other guys on a new SBTS related blog called Said At Southern. I’ve added you to our aggregator. You can meet many guys on hanging around our blog or just anywhere on campus.
