Christmas Wishes
I think I’ve figured out what I want for Christmas. I’ve been doing a little research on DSLR cameras, specifically Nikon. And I’ve settled on D80, which I’ve been eyeing since rumours about it came out after the D70s release (the D200 is just overkill & way larger than my wallet). The hard part is figuring which lens to get with it. After some discussion over email with a friend who has a D70, I think I’d stick with a Nikkor lens to start… and go with the legendary 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX!
I’ve found the D80 with the 18-200 VR on sale for $1989! Now if only I had 2 Gs free to spend on this baby…

Darn .. that’s MY dream system. Ideally, I’d love to get a faster lens than 3.5 to 5.6.

The local store is actually here in London. I bought my D80 from them. One thing you have to keep in mind though is that the 18-200mm VR is still HIGHLY back-ordered and you’re still going to have to wait months for it to arrive on your doorstep if you can wait that long :p
