here's an idea from bible study 2 years ago from hoimin, with a bit my own adaptive spin to it.

1. Humans are created in the image of God --

Thus depending on the philosophical approach to your mind/body/spirit relationship --

the most popular cliche idea is --
Mind Soul/Spirit Body

Mind parallel to God the Father, the one who plans, directs -- holding 'ultimate' control to the entity (in a sense)

Soul parallel to the spirit, often labeled perhaps by the 'heart' (emotions/temperment etc. NOT biological pump :p) tho often attributed to be intimately stringed together with (taking mind philosophy course :p) -- the Spirit of life, :)

Body obvious parallel to Jesus - physical representation, the executor of the above said, the confessor --

And much like when we look at ourselves or our friends.. you wouldn't mark them and say Alex is 3 seperate entities, their soul/spirit is part of their character, likewise their mind, and their body -- all part of their being.

One God. :)
perhaps 3 seperate 'roles' -- that in they 'operate differently'

but much like in philosophy of the mind -- the 3 entities are wrapped so intimately together, that there is no clear seperation as to how our consciousness mind -- somehow transcends into the physical into a ball of grey matter, and likewise the 'mind/spirit' which I would argue are too intimately held together to really 'prove' some distinct relationship...

we can't even begin to fathom the relationship to this 'simplified' image of God, and to understand how the Trinity or "God Head" really works... we can perhaps get vague notions but in the end... we don't even come close.

I'm sort of on the fence to both the sides presented because Christianity is afterall relationship --- and you can't truly intimatelyKnow someone if its through only watching their body, and following what they do (Behaviouralist), or psychoanalyzing their personality (Psychoanlytic), or only talking on the phone with them and sharing their 'heart'.

to truly know someone -- you gotta know/recognize their body, their mind, their heart/personality -- all of them :) Of course 'God' is a coverterm which addresses both and in a friendship/relationship we don't really make the distinction but its recognized...

*shrugs* just some thoughts.
